Meivy Jacquot

Surrounded by Anglo Saxon Rock music Meivy begins to play the drum at age 4.
At 14, he begins to play the bass while discovering Jazz music. This self taught artist produced and recorded his first pieces at age 11. Very eager to evolve, he enrolled for a big band harmony writing classes with Laurent Cugny, improvisation and polyrythmy with Steve Coleman, he studied Yoruba ritual music in Cuba and Indian rythm and singing with John Boswell.

At 26, he won the 1st prize in Vannes Jazz festival with Quartethno Alban d’Arche’s band. His music is essentially based on the blending of styles, and the diversion of sounds, and cultural echos, he naturally uses electronic tools to complement acoustic instruments. Enriched with various collaborations with artists coming from all kinds of backgrounds, Plays, cinema, painting, Jazz, Rock, french songs. His two passions are writing for movies and live performance on stage .
He is now getting ready to play his original creations besides the collaborations he is invited to work on.
He has worked extensively with numerous production companies such as la Fabrique, Score ddb, Scopic, Eskwad, France 3 TV channel , Grand Angle, Capricci Prod, TéléNantes for directing institutional movie musics , documentary and crédit titles. The companies Alice, 4art 6, Les Jeanlains, Producers Sébastien Marqué, Denis Rochard, Charly Mars, ordered original music for their movies or plays. He writes music and arrangements for Brisa Roché, Rosie Marie, Sandrine Monlezun… He plays on tour with Baptiste Trotignon, Sébastien Giniaux, Norig, Alban Darche, Geoffroy Tamisier, Daniel Givone, Quartethno, Sébastien.
